This Privacy Policy explains how Aquadayum ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Aquadayum mobile application. We are committed to your privacy. We do not sell your data — ever.

01 Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide you with a great aquarium-management experience.
Account Information
- Email address — used to create and authenticate your account.
- Display name — the name shown in your profile.
- Profile photo — an optional avatar you choose to upload.
Aquarium Data
- Tank details (name, size, type, setup date)
- Water parameter readings (pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity, temperature, etc.)
- Livestock records (fish, corals, invertebrates)
- Plant and macro-algae records
- Equipment lists and maintenance schedules
- Maintenance logs and notes
- Photos you upload for species identification or tank records
Technical & Usage Data
- Push notification device tokens (see Section 5)
- App usage patterns collected anonymously for product improvement
02 How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To store and synchronise your aquarium data across devices.
- To power AI-driven species identification and tank-health analysis.
- To send maintenance reminders and push notifications you have opted into.
- To manage your subscription and process payments through Apple.
- To investigate abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and ensure app security.
- To improve the app based on anonymised usage patterns.
We do not use your data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
03 Third-Party Services
Aquadayum integrates with the following third-party services to deliver its features. Each provider has their own privacy policy.

04 AI Features & Data Processing
Aquadayum uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power two features:
- Species Identification — when you photograph a fish, coral, or plant, the image is sent to Claude for identification.
- Tank Analysis — your tank parameters and livestock data may be sent to Claude to generate health insights and recommendations.
Anthropic does not store the photos or tank data sent through Aquadayum's API calls. The data is processed in transit to produce a response and is not used to train Anthropic's models. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for full details.
AI-generated responses are advisory in nature. See our Terms of Service for important disclaimers regarding AI recommendations.
05 Push Notifications
If you enable maintenance reminders, we collect your device's push notification token. This token is stored in our database and shared with Expo's push notification service solely for the purpose of delivering reminders you have configured.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device's system settings or within the Aquadayum app settings. Disabling notifications will cause your token to be removed from our active notification list.
06 Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). Access to your data is protected by row-level security policies — no user can access another user's records.
While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
07 Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — you can view all your data within the app at any time.
- Correction — you can edit your profile and aquarium records directly in the app.
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data via Account → Delete Account in the app. Deletion is irreversible and takes effect immediately.
- Portability — contact us to request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — you may object to certain uses of your data by contacting us.
To exercise any right not available directly in the app, contact us at support@aquadayum.com. We will respond within 30 days.
08 Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personally identifiable data is permanently removed from our active database. Anonymised, aggregate usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days following deletion before being purged from backup systems.
09 Children's Privacy
Aquadayum is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10 Cookies
Aquadayum is a mobile application. The app itself does not use cookies. This landing page (aquadayum.com) also does not set any cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts. It is a static page with no third-party trackers.
11 GDPR & CCPA
For users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the app service), your consent (push notifications), and our legitimate interests (security and abuse prevention). You have the rights described in Section 7. To exercise them, contact support@aquadayum.com.
For California residents (CCPA)
We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of any sale (which we do not conduct). To submit a CCPA request, contact support@aquadayum.com.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of Aquadayum after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
